In South America’s southern frontier, nature, long left to its own devices, grows wild, barren and beautiful. In Patagonia, spaces are large, as are the silences that fill them. For those who come here, an encounter with such emptiness can be as awesome as the sight of jagged peaks, pristine rivers and dusty backwater oases.

Based in northern Patagonia, this lodge-based multi-sport embeds all the elements Patagonia and the Bariloche region of Argentina has to offer: hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, fishing and river rafting. There are also optional yoga and polo lessons, massage therapy, kite boarding, paragliding, climbing, and pretty much any adventure activity you can imagine! Strung out along the shoreline of Lago Nahuel Huapi, in the middle of the national park of the same name, Bariloche (formally San Carlos de Bariloche) has one of the most gorgeous settings imaginable. Truly a year round adventure destination, the wealth of activities available nearby in the surrounding countryside, has helped it become the Lake District’s principal destination.

Our luxurious watefront lodgings feaure breathtaking views and allow guests a plethora of adventure options. You can ride on horseback, hike and climb on wonderful mountain trails (in the national park trail network). Guests can paddle kayaks or fly fish on the lake or raft a pristine river, returning each night to the incredible luxury of our full-service waterfront accommodations. The soaring peaks ring the region, giving picture-postcard views in nearly every direction.

What to Expect on the Patagonia Multi-Sport – Argentina

Day 1

Today is your arrival to Bariloche. It’s a 30-minute drive from the airport to our first night’s lodging. If you arrive in the morning, the guides will take you for a fun hike up Cerro San Martin. We will carry our lunches and have lunch at the top. Often dubbed, “The Switzerland of Latin America”, the town features all manner of restaurants, shops and even a Chocolate Museum! More recently, Bariloche has become famous for its microbreweries and craft beers. We will be certain to sample a few (of the 55 breweries) and dinner in town. Overnight at Huinid Pioneros

Day 2

Today we’ll spend the entire day exploring Lago Mascardi by kayak. We’ll take a picnic lunch with us and stop on a remote beach at our leisure, soaking in the superb views. There will be plenty of time to recharge at lunch and at the day’s end, we’ll check into Hotel Tronador. This evening we will enjoy an educational and fun wine tasting experience before dinner. Overnight at Tronador Hotel

Day 3

Today we’ll let you sleep in a little longer before plying you with breakfast treats like home-made pastries and jams, fresh berry tarts from our organic garden or whatever you like best at breakfast time. We’ll split our day with a morning horseback ride and then an afternoon hike through incredible forest and meadows. Our famous mountain oasis is shadowed by the region’s highest peak and our lodge’s namesake, Mt Tronador. Overnight Hotel Tronador

Day 4

Today we have many options to consider, so here’s a few:
The main attraction at Hotel Tronador is our proximity to the Otto Meiling trek. So, for those wanting a bigger challenge, we have a full-day hike that will bring you in touch with peaks of the Andean Ranges. The 28km walk takes about 8-10 hours and takes you through varied terrain. The first part of the hike takes you through scenic old-growth forest and the second part rewards you with dramatic alpine views of the glacier and the jutting peaks of Cerro Tronador. After this full-day of adventure, you may rest before cocktails and dinner.

For those not wanting a full day hike of this magnitude, we have shorter routes to a cascade, horseback riding and kayaking available at your discretion.
Overnight Hotel Tronador

Day 5

After an early breakfast, we’ll take a scenic shuttle to our next lodging: a unique, sophisticated, and exclusive luxury glamping at the shorelines of Manso River. You’ll have some time to relax and at noon we will enjoy a complete charcuterie board, tasting the best regional flavors accompanied by Patagonian wines, with spectacular views of the river and mountains. After lunch we will get ready for a gentle horseback ride.

After a short transfer, we arrive at the farm of the John family, old settlers and pioneers of the region. There, our horseback riding guide will give us a technical and safety talk, and then we will go for a pleasant one-hour ride through the countryside, discovering new corners and landscapes of the Manso River Valley.

Once the ride is over, we return to the camp where we are surprised by a variety of pastry with a variety of drinks and regional infusions. This is the ideal moment to relax in the outdoor living with breathtaking views of Cerro Bastión. Our first day at the glamping ends around the campfire, enjoying a glass of wine while we get ready to savor the regional dishes prepared by our chef and kitchen team. Overnight Manso Camp

Day 6

We wake up in the peace and quiet of the countryside. A large breakfast buffet awaits us in the lounge tent, with herbal teas, breads, fruits, cereals, regional sweets, cold cuts, among other delicacies.

After breakfast, we get ready for rafting on the Manso River. We will take a transfer to the equipment point, where we will meet the rafting guides, who will provide us with clothing and safety equipment. Once on the shore of the river, we will receive a technical talk and we will embark on the rafts to enjoy an unforgettable adventure. During the tour we will be able to appreciate white sand beaches, waterfalls, exuberant vegetation and exciting rapids. At the end of the activity, we return to the camp where we will be waiting for you with a complete Patagonian barbecue. Afterwards, we will have free time to relax by the river or in the shade of the forest. In the evening, we will meet again to discover countless stars and constellations through our telescope. To end the day, we enjoy an exquisite menu by candlelight in the comfort of the lounge tent. Overnight Manso Camp

Day 7

There should be time to enjoy the last views and beauty of the Manso Valley before heading back into Bariloche for a night in the town. Tonight we will eat at a typical steakhouse or Empanadas Place and overnight at Hotel Hampton by Hilton, in the heart of Bariloche town. Time to visit chocolate stores….. Overnight Bariloche Hilton

Day 8

We will wake up early and enjoy the last views and beauty of the Nahuel Huapi National Park and Bariloche City before transferring to the airport. Fly to Buenos Aires, El Calafate or transfer to Chile for our Lakes District Multi-sport or a Futaleufu rafting experience.
